It is obvious that science and Christians will never share the same beliefs. Having said that, the Pope is currently encouraging Christians to believe that evolution and creationism can go hand-in-hand. This is a bitter pill to swallow for true believers in "God created the heavens and the Earth."
In my other blog, I brought up the naturalist theory. I touched on the fact that naturalism cannot describe how we process thoughts. As Socrates stated "the naturalist approach to reality has difficulty explaining behavior that has purpose." (Stewart, p. 288). The thought process, what is right and wrong, and what we do with that knowledge cannot be explained by the naturalist theory. Doctors don't know the true workings of the brain or the body (trust me, I know first hand). So the science isn't all there. Yet, many people rely on science to tell them how dinosaurs adapted and how we all came from apes. Many people are willing to take that because it is science and it can be proved by carbon dating and many other tools they say they have. But how is this any more true than the creationism theory?
As you can see, I'm the subjective believer and don't need concrete proof. I just know He's up there and watching me. Trust me, I have my days when I feel alone and abandoned, but I know He wouldn't do that. He's just waiting for the right time to show me the answer.
