Hi. I will give you advise from my experience. There are two kinds of people when it comes to religion. 1- Those who need religion as something that will complete a feeling of lack within their life. 2- Those who are seeking reality ONLY, and don't…

Profile Information

What religion, if any, do you adhere to?
A Course In Miracles, a book by Helen Schuckman which reveals the teachings of Jesus as dictated to her by a voice saying it is Him. Sounds crazy, I know, but everything I've gathered from it has been spectacularly marvelous. I feel it is a wonderful tool for all those seeking truth.
At least 3 subjects I am knowledgable in.
English, Art, and sorta Spanish I guess.
My Mythos -
I'm just a man trying to get through life, same as any. I don't really know how to explain what my Mythos is.
My question for the RG community.
What is "I" to you?

SS, If anyone wants an example of a well-designed site check out this science forum:
http://www.scienceagogo.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=editbasic&u=1
Look in the upper left corner and take note of the number of participants.

Look in the NOT QUITE SCIENCE SECTION: One thread I have there, on The Philosophy of Religion --login name, Turner, now has over 1,300,000 hits. And there are other well-read threads.

Self-Seeker: Above, you mentioned being confused because you are getting messages not intended for you.

This one is intended for you, SS. I hope it is also read by anyone responsible for helping us NOT be confused. If we had a less confusing system I would be here more often.

For example, the date today is Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2009. On this page at this moment I see dates on comments, which are nowheres near today's date.

And, what on earth does "Attach a gift mean?"

I have been asked : Do you adhere to any particular religion?
Yes. the United ( that is, Methodist+Presbyterian+Congregational+others) Church of Canada. It is more concerned with deeds than creeds.

Ordained in 1953, with my wife Jean (a teacher) I spent all my life as a pastoral minister. Part of that involved doing counseling and lecturing on pneumatology--the mother of psychology. I am still doing it in re-directment--I don't like retirement.

For details, check out http://www.flfcanada.com The special links will lead you to some of my interests, especially monetary reform,--much needed to help us get through the current financial crisis. Or should we continue to depend on the one who got us into the mess: the so-called financial "experts" ?

I tried to answer you concern about the 1st Corinthians 5 question in the discussion where you asked it. I hope it helps.

I'm not a fan of the Judeo-Christian idea of "temptation", so you won't find me making spiritual judgments regarding people "giving in" to it.
Sorry. :)

Great to hear from you Mike. I am so WOWed by you checking out that dictionary. Just shows what a youthful, open-minded brain is capable of - in comparison to the "dinosaurs" some minds have become. If you'd write a post on ASC about getting the dictionary and why and what you're learning and wondering about --- I will forever be infinitely grateful - and you'll forever be infinitely greatful. Can't get much better than that.

You're the living breathing example extraordinaire of a learner! So glad to know ya!

Hey, Mike. Maybe you can scan or photo some of your artwork and put it into ACS so we can see it.

That was one of Roman's better posts..LOL.. It spurred a bit of thought here to say the least. I'm not sure If I even posted to it, and I took it as an attack on the deification and separation of Jesus from the human condition. This is an interestin…

Hey, David! I thought you'd like to keep a souvenir of your light-hearthed post, infamously deleted from Redefile Gog by this guy doone who seems to be the bodyguard here. Take it, and take care! http://b.imagehost.org/view/0848/Do-imperialist-pigs

No, it is not! This discussion fits perfectly within RGs general topics.

I see you reconsidered your comments. It's just too east to be intellectually negative in a place like this - and it leads nowhere. Cheers.

David, I'm not sure whether you are being rude or hostile. In any event, you are you and there is nothing that can be done about that right? I'll give you the last word.

Geez guys, is that Romans face on the hull. Do I hear a challenge fired across somebody's bow? And I thought we were all lovers and not fighters - here at RG. Round 2.

Nice, David, but you're way off topic here. I don't care what his point is. He bluffed and got caught. This is an international forum dedicated to the subject of spirituality. Topic here is: there's no spirituality in a state of war, except what Kr…

I also have failed to take into account of the pinhead size in this discussion as well that has a tremendous impact in it gives the dimension of the dance floor. The bigger the pinhead the more angels we can have dancing.

when you talk like how many angels can dance on the head of a pin I most certainly do. Unless you think that's a rational conversation. That might be where we part company. Oh what's the difference Roman says they are limited by scale and measuremen…

Do you really think RG is a fantacy site? I find it curious how, in some respects, it is the materialsists that limit unknown possibilities to known possibilities. I wish I could be as certain of reality as you. I'm being observational here David -…

what we should be talking about here is how many angels can dance on a head of a pin. It depends if you believe that they are governed by material or immaterial now doesn't it. The above nonsense of discussing in any serious way consciousness as it'…

David, I write a 200 word note to Roman and you respond, I presume on Roman’s behalf, with 700 of your own. I write about the possibility that consciousness is separate from the body and you respond with the word “NEVER” an incredible 20 times. You…
