I successfully installed Wordpress MU!!
You wouldn't believe all the research, fucking around, and support people I had to talk to!
I'm sure this is only the tip of the iceberg but oh well. Good riddance to Ning and their bait & switch to own our content.
I still can't believe I own OpenSourceReligion.org. I looked into it and might actually acquire the .com version this December as well.
One thing I'm very curious about are the API's (if there are any) that MediaWiki provides. Because if I'm going to use MediaWiki for TSC, I want it so that every time one of us makes a change on it, it gets reported back to RG (the new RG) as an update in a little box or something.
Anyway that's all still in the works. I'm so excited!

Btw I don't mean good riddance to say that I'm deleting the old RG. One of my next goals is to migrate all the content if possible....basically if Ning decides what we wrote actually belongs to us.

Good luck, Sid. You have probably not noticed but Ning is now running horrible Match.COM ads on the free Ning networks. See this note from Classroom.com " "Caution New Ning banner ads (Match.com) Will get us into Community trouble" on Classroom 2.0."
A typical horrible Ning decision to aggravate as many as possible.

WAY TO GO DUDE!!!!!!! I'm so poor right now I can't even spend the money on going through this on my own, I moved to paradise unfortunately there is little work so we scrap right now. Arrgh if it's not one thing it another. I might actually have a few bucks to send your way soon Sid, I appologize for not giving any bling up at this point we are very tight right now on everything. I'm reusing condoms to save money. HA!!! ok kidding on that.

@Jim: I know, it's such a backwards way of running a network. People want to know they have the freedom to say what they want and own their own content; anything short of this strikes me as digital robbery.
@doone: You and I have been with Ning since almost the beginning. Remember when they specifically stated we own all our own content? Then they got rid of that, but not before allowing hundreds of thousands of networks to be running. How is this not illegal?
@david: Don't sweat it David. I know what it's like to be strapped (because I am every month!). The new site is going to have a few new methods implemented to finance the site. One of them is, perhaps, a little controversial, but I just hope people see the logic and good in it. More on that in the days to come.

Boy, it's one idea after another popping off with db these days..... so there is this entity called "Wordpress" that's all fine and dandy... but where I'm taking it .. this whole TSC... is more of an "Audiopress".... and guess what Audiopress in the sense of the word being equivalent to "Wordpress" does not exist. Now just by me posting this... I'm sure within a few minutes somebody will scoop up on this idea and purchase audiopress.com or audiopress.net or audiopress.org with my budget and freshly washed condoms in the dishwasher... I hope somebody in RG would purchase that domain name to prove that collaboration exists at a trust level that eliminates the fear of greed. Here is a demonstration of how an idea posted in a open source social networking environment may prove that this is not open source.....in regards to Ning owning the content.......that's a can of wormshit I'm going to open... just because I can... does not me I should... because should needs to be eliminated from my vocabulary .....

Before you say I'm hijacking..... you are just beginning to realize something..... all that research, %^&^% around, and support people you had to talk to..... was that fun ? If the answer is no.... I would of been your gofer for all this misery you are going through because that what I love to do... and it's fun as heaven to me. If your answer is yes, I will be your gofer at a whole new level... at the same rate you are discovering and acknowledging... there are those that have been through this process and REALLY want to nurture you.... you just don't feel that trust level..... I understand that perfectly well....I have come up with a way to actually verify that I'm trustworthy in this technological age that has the stamp of GOD's inspiration.and soundness.
